CUSTOM ORTHODONTIC OPTIONS

Your smile is often one of the first things people notice about you and is absolutely the universal sign for happiness! The importance of keeping your smile healthy AND beautiful cannot be understated. Studies have shown that a beautiful smile makes you more attractive to others, helps you look and feel younger and can even help you appear more intelligent.

At Stannard, Studt and Tironi Dentistry, a beautiful smile is attainable by utilizing orthodontics to straighten your teeth and improve your bite!

INVISALIGN

Invisalign is an easy, unobtrusive option for straightening your teeth, especially for adults who want to avoid the appearance of traditional metal braces or teens who want to continue their active lifestyles uninhibited while receiving invisalign treatment.

Some benefits of using Invisalign include:

  • Flexibility: We know that one of the hardest things to get used to with traditional braces is the food restrictions.  Because Invisalign aligners are removed at mealtimes, you’ll still be able to eat just about everything you normally would, as long as you remember to be vigilant about brushing and flossing afterwards. You’ll never have to sacrifice your favorite dish for a straighter smile with Invisalign treatment!

  • Effectiveness: Provided you wear your Invisalign aligners for the recommended 20-22 hours daily, treatment with this system can be just as effective as traditional metal braces. Invisalign can effectively treat most mild to moderate cases of underbite, overbite, overcrowding and gaps between teeth – all very common dental issues.

HOW IT WORKS

When you first look at a single Invisalign aligner, you may be confused as to how something so simple could straighten your teeth. The system relies on a sequence of a few custom-made aligners switched out weekly to slowly move teeth into the designed positions.

With Invisalign, the needed tooth movement is generated by the flex of the resilient plastic on the teeth. Since each tray can only move the teeth a set amount at a set speed, the further your teeth need to move to reach their optimal position, the greater the number of aligners you’ll need. Essentially, your teeth begin a position 0. Your first Waterford invisalign aligner will get you to a set position 1. Your second aligner will take you to position 2, third to position 3, and so on. This process will continue until your teeth have completed all the movements predetermined by your Waterford dentist and to your optimal smile!

TRADITIONAL BRACES

Traditional braces have been around for a very long time, and are probably the most recognizable symbol of orthodontics. These orthodontic workhorses have a well-established history of successful treatment, and are incredibly efficient at correcting oral issues ranging from mild to complex.

In the past, metal braces had a reputation for being a bit awkward and obvious, but modern orthodontics has produced versions that are smaller, less conspicuous, and far more comfortable than ever before! Sleeker brackets and lighter wires improve the appearance and feel of these braces, and help keep irritation in the mouth to a minimum.
